Charms The Essex Therapy Centre

About us
Charms is the only hyperbaric & Normobaric Oxygen Barochamber Facility in Essex.

Established on 10th November 1984 CHARMS, The Essex Therapy Centre, was opened by Councillor Mrs Con Johnson, Mayor of Chelmsford 1984-1985, and Councillor Mr Mike Rose, Mayor of Chelmsford 1983-1984.

Originally only supporting clients with Multiple Sclerosis, CHARMS was reopened on 11th March 1998 by Councillor Bill Horslen, Mayor of Chelmsford 1997-1998, and in 2011-2012, CHARMS
won The High Sheriffs' Volunteer Centres Award.

CHARMS was briefly inspected by the National Care Standards Commission, part of the Care Quality Commission, as an Independent Healthcare Provider, and achieved various Quality Assurance Standards, including Investors in People & PQASSO (Level 3).

Our landlord is presently the Medical Research Council, we are insured by the Church of England and we have a Presidential Team comprising NHS medical doctors and nurses.  We also receive advice from other Consultants in the UK and overseas.

We are conveniently located on the Dukes Park Industrial Estate in Chelmsford, with ample free parking and open on: Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 09:30-14:00 (other days and times by arrangement).
