The table tennis started on 7th October 2012 and the membership has grown to approximately 30.

We have an average of 12 to 18 players attending each week and are fortunate to have Fred Lockwood, who has gained various medals in the over 70s and 75s VETTS World Championships in 2004, 2008 and 2010, giving some gentle tuition to the members.

We also made an application to the Basildon District Council for some funding under their Sports Development Grant and were awarded £200, which went towards the purchase of our first table tennis table, and we have now been able to purchase a further three tables out of funds.
