Background
The club was established in 1989 with 27 members; currently membership is 54
and is open to all residents of the village and surrounding area.
There are four sessions each week played at the Village Hall.
Monday evening primarily set up for members unable to attend daytime sessions and wanting a competitive game. Teams are selected at random.
Tuesday evening League Match nights and a mixture of roll ups, practice nights, friendlies and spoon drives.
Wednesday morning teams of four are selected at random. Bowling is quite competitive but there is a more relaxed atmosphere that gives an opportunity to practice skills and improve your game.
Friday afternoon - played in pairs, with a permanent partner for the year. Those without partners are paired up on the day. Games are played in a competitive manner.
Although bowling is quite competitive, games are played in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Numbers are limited for all sessions, but if you would like to join an oversubscribed session you can be added to the waiting list.
Currently we run three league teams, The Rooks, The Ravens and The Robins, all playing in various divisions with the South Essex Short Mat Bowling League. League selection is open to all members.
