Our Charity Quiz Night on 15th October was a great success, attracting 10 teams.

A very successful evening was enjoyed by over 60 people which raised £555 in aid of the Village Hall sponsored Charity, CHARMS - The Essex Therapy Centre.

Thanks to our quiz masters, Angela and Steve Tuff, for compiling such a varied and interesting quiz, and also to Audrey Pegrum for organising this popular event.

Sid Bolan Big Band Concert

What more could we ask for? Beautiful weather, good food and good music from
The Sid Bolan Big Band on Saturday 9th July in the Church grounds.

After paying the band, we were left with £712.40 towards church funds.

We didn't have as many people attending this year because people were on holiday, getting away before the schools break up.  The band were also playing at Ramsden Heath Village Hall towards the end of the month, so we lost some people from Ramsden Heath. Others were unable to attend because they had gone down with Covid.

However, those who came enjoyed the music, with a ploughman's supper during the interval.

Thank you for all your support and help, which made a lovely evening.

Strawberry Cream Tea

18th June 2022

The Strawberry Cream Tea held at the Village Hall on Saturday 18th June was again a great success, raising an amazing £900 for St. Mary's Church funds, our best year yet.

Ahead of the event, it was uncertain how many people would return after a two year absence. This fear was unfounded as more and more people came into the hall.  Extra tables were brought out to accommodate the numbers.

Everyone enjoyed home made scones, jam, cream and strawberries, together with tea and coffee, and there was a lovely atmosphere during the whole afternoon.

Many thanks to Audrey Pegrum for organising the event and to all her helpers who served the teas; washed up, sold raffle tickets, cakes and jams, and cleared the hall after the event.
