Autumn Show
Saturday 16th September 2023

Our Autumn show was well supported, both in terms of entries in the morning and then by the general publici n the afternoon, once the show had opened.

Garden Visit
Monday 17 July 2023

On Monday 17th July we visited the garden of Chris Cheesewright at 2 Cedar Avenue, Wickford, who is a member of the National Garden Scheme and is included in this year’s NGS Calendar.

Besides gardening, Chris is Chair of the Federation of British Aquatic Society and has a pond in the garden.

His garden is small but tightly packed with a vast amount of different and colourful flowers and plants.

We thoroughly enjoyed the day and the cake.


Summer Show
Saturday 10th June 2023

It was our Summer Show on 10th June and this year we had 155 entries from 28 exhibitors.

We had a fantastic display of roses, flowers, vegetables, handicraft, floral art and cookery.

Huge congratulations to the winners including those who received Certificate of Merit for the best exhibits in their respective sections. 

Winners of the Certificate of Merits were as follows:

Rusi Hodivala was awarded a Certificate of Merit for an exhibit of 1 vase, 3 specimen rose blooms
Peter Hayday was awarded a Certificate of Merit for the Best Floral Art Exhibit for his exhibit of 1 vase of annuals

April Mini Show
Monday 17th April 2023

The Horticultural Society's second mini show was mainly for tulips. As well as wonderful tulips, there was a great display of other spring flowers and rhubarb.

The Certificate of Merit was awarded to Fiona Whittaker for her exhibit of a container with flowers, bulbs and/or corms growing in the container.

Daffodil Mini Show
Monday 20th March 2023

The Horticultural Society's first show of the year produced an abundance of beautiful daffodils, snowdrops and other spring flowers. We had a total of 64 entries from our members.

The Certificate of Merit was awarded to Philippa Jenkinson for her exhibit of a beautiful Amaryllis
in the 'Any Flowering Pot Plant' category.
